Legendaries
A new way
![Legendaries | Whitemane Feature](/img/features/Legendaries.webp)
Whitemane is set to invigorate the Wrath of the Lich King expansion by introducing new legendary items, creating a fresh dynamic and offering something previously unseen in this expansion. These legendaries are designed to be more powerful than other items within their respective content tiers, akin to the impact of Val'anyr and Shadowmourne. Each content tier will feature its own unique legendary item or items.
Tier 7
In this tier, players can embark on a questline to acquire Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian. The questline is tailored for maximum level characters and involves activities in Naxxramas and Sunwell Plateau. Additionally, Kil'Jaeden will have a small chance to drop Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury. Atiesh will be available in versions for Mages, Warlocks, Priests, and Druids. Warriors and Retribution Paladins will be happy to discover Gorehowl, a legendary 2-Handed Axe. Atiesh, Thori'dal, and Gorehowl will be scaled to an item level of 232, equivalent to Ulduar 10-Man weapons.
Tier 8
Val'anyr will remain as it is, and we are currently considering the addition of a 1-Hand DPS legendary item with an item level of 245.
Tier 9
From the Molten Core Timewalking, Garr and Baron Geddon will occasionally drop the Bindings of the Windseeker, which are necessary for crafting Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. Ragnaros will offer a chance to obtain the Eye of Sulfuras, essential for Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros. The quest items for these weapons will be adjusted to fit the Wrath of the Lich King content. Both weapons will serve as tanking legendaries: Thunderfury for Warriors and Paladins, and Sulfuras for Death Knights and Feral Druids, scaled to an item level of 264, equivalent of Icecrown Citadel 10-Man.
Tier 10
Shadowmourne will continue to be available without changes.
